Workshop IBFRA Insight Process «Sustainable boreal forest management – challenges and opportunities for climate change mitigation»

Workshop was held in Stockholm 20-21.05 2019. Experts from Russia, Canada, USA, Sweden, Finland and Norway, as well as representatives of the International Boreal Forest Research Association (IBFRA) attended the workshop. Representatives from the Federal Forestry Agency (FBU "NRIF", FBU "SPbFRI" and FBU "VNIILM") took part in the session.

Peter Högberg at SLU in Sweden leaded the team with administrative support by Lina Arnesson Ceder. Both are appointed by the Future Forests project and employed by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).

This workshop in Stockholm aimed at launching, scoping and coordinating the IBFRA Insight Process on boreal forest management

Each national team started by making a preliminary overview of the statistics and knowledge from their own country, but also brought with them a list of general key papers pertinent to the questions.

Team of experts identified gaps in our knowledge and has decided how to divide the future work between members of the team.
